ASFPM will develop and deliver guidance and training following the successful approach used for the CRS for Community Resilience Guide, a.k.a the CRS Green Guide. The multi-year project outcome will enhance community capacity to understand and mitigate NFIP repetitive loss (RL) properties. The project will include a “Multiple Loss Properties Mitigation Engagement Seminar and Training Series” that will include training modules and information exchange about the following key themes: explanation of the role of RL properties in the NFIP; understanding CRS best practices that address RL properties; use of community-based substantial damage compliance as a RL property mitigation action; RL property owner engagement and education strategies; the role of state hazard mitigation officers; and mitigation financing. It is expected the initial focus of the Seminar Series will be in coastal areas.
